2010 - Dare to Dream! Dare to Believe! Dare to do it… Again!
Awake, Awake! Clothe yourself with strength” (Isaiah 51:9) and Dare to Dream! Dare to Believe! Dare to do it again in 2010

September is here, summer is on the way out and we are two thirds through the year!!! Remember we are in our eighth year, the year of new beginnings and it is never too late to begin dreaming again or to begin believing again and it is never too late to just do it again! Pastor Tom spoke to us about the ninth year that is ahead of us and how the number nine speaks of judgment of what we did during the period of number eight.

2010 is therefore a year of testing for City Impact Church and what we do, as well as what our attitudes are through those tests will determine how we fare in 2011. We are winners and more than conquerors through the anointing which strengthens us. Amen?! And the joy of the Lord is our strength. And God, who is love, lives in us and love never fails so we will not fail. Amen?!

As we read in Daniel 1:11-16 Daniel and his friends were tested and they came out on top. “So Daniel said to the steward whom the chief of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, ‘Please test your servants for ten days, and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then let our appearance be examined before you, and the appearance of the young men who eat the portion of the king's delicacies; and as you see fit, so deal with your servants.’ So he consented with them in this matter, and tested them ten days. And at the end of ten days their features appeared better and fatter in flesh than all the young men who ate the portion of the king's delicacies.”

They were tested for 10 days, and then they had favor with the King. They were found to be 10 times better than the others. This will happen for those who are faithful to stand in times of testing. In the end, we will rise above all the world’s standards and advance.

In the book of Nehemiah ten times words were spoken to stop Nehemiah's work on the wall, but he did not them deter him from his destiny. City Impact Church, do not be intimidated by the seeming onslaught of the evil one. We will finish the task that God has put before us. God has spoken to us over and over, so be encouraged and Dare to Dream, Dare to Believe and Dare to do it…Again!

We are Kingdom Builders, World Changers and Dominion Takers by the Word of God’s power in us. Amen?!

OCTOBER 2010 - Dare to Dream! Dare to Believe! Dare to do it… Again! “Awake, Awake! Clothe yourself with strength” (Isaiah 51:9) and Dare to Dream! Dare to Believe! Dare to do it again in 2010

In Daniel chapter 10 we read that Daniel had been fasting and seeking God and he had a supernatural visitation as he was standing on the bank of the great Tigris river. It was interesting that although others were there with Daniel they did not see anything but they did ‘feel’ something in the atmosphere and were quite freaked out. Daniel, however, saw in the spirit and was able to converse with the heavenly visitor even though he was shaken by the visitation.

The angel spoke to Daniel and told him how very precious he was to God. We are precious to God when we stand for righteousness and don’t compromise. The angel also told Daniel not to be afraid and reminded him again how precious he was to God. When we realize how precious we are to God and how protected we are ‘in Him’ what is there to be afraid of?! Even though sometimes we need to be reminded. The angel then decreed peace over Daniel and said ‘Be encouraged! Be strong!’ When we have a heavenly encounter we will be strengthened and encouraged.

Jesus too was strengthened and encouraged in His encounter in the Garden of Gethsemane. As recounted in Luke 22 Jesus was praying and agonizing under the pressure of all the forces of hell that were coming against Him yet He was firm in His resolve to carry out His Father’s will. Then in verse 43 we are told that just like in Daniel chapter 10 an angel visited Jesus and strengthened Him. Again we see how precious we are to God when we stand for righteousness and don’t compromise. It is God’s priority to encourage and strengthen us when we make this stand for Him.

While Jesus was spending this time with Father God the disciples were sleeping even though Jesus had asked them to watch and pray. It is unfortunate to think that they missed out on this encouragement and strength that was being made available and we can see the immediate consequence in Peter’s life when he denied Jesus. God has promised to always make a way of escape for us and unfortunately Peter missed his moment of strengthening right when he needed it most. Daniel’s friends missed it by running in fear. Jesus’ disciples missed it by sleeping right through it.

City Impact Church, this is our time, our call to destiny. So be encouraged! Be strong! “Awake, Awake! Clothe yourself with strength” (Isaiah 51:9) and Dare to Dream! Dare to Believe! And Dare to do it again in 2010.
